Honoring the 2010 High School Football Champions - Class 1A













Division I - Abbeville Panthers

Abbeville High School has won five state championships in the history of their football program but the year 2010 marked their first in Class A Division I.

Abbeville dominated Bamberg-Erhardt in the state championship game, 42-13. Led by outstanding running back Ashton Heard who had 230 yards rushing with two scores. The Panthers held the ball for 30 minutes in a game that is only 48 minutes long. In total the Panthers ran for 432 yards in their one sided championship victory.

Division II - Scott's Branch Eagles

In a rematch of the 2009 Class A Division II state championship game, the Scott's Branch Eagles changed the result.

Led by Division I recruit Jerrell Adams and Traven Parker the Eagles won a thriller against Williston Elko. Parker ran for 212 yards and one score. Parker threw for a touchdown pass, ran for a touchdown, caught a touchdown pass and also intercepted a pass on defense. The Eagles were able to pull away late and secure the title, 34-32.
